The Garvan Gardens are open 9am-6pm daily for the Splash of Glass.
Artist James Hayes gorgeous glass works are on display at the Garvan Woodland Gardens through September 30, 2013. The large glass pieces are placed throughout the 210-acre gardens, including huge glass pieces in the koi pond.
In the garden pavilion, a large silver and white glass piece is hung in the center, and it’s shadow shifts with the wind on the pavilion floor. The pavilion was designed by architect E. Fay Jones, and the acoustics of this outdoor pavilion are remarkable. Stand to one side of the pavilion and whisper. You’ll be amazed that your whispered words are heard clearly across the pavilion!

From the Author: I walked the gardens with my husband Ray, and the glass works sometimes seem to pop out of nowhere. This art exhibit brings joy! Allow 2-4 hours to explore the gardens, although it's possible to spend the entire day. In the summer, mornings are best before the sun gets too hot.
