Description:

To all my bird loving friends, this is a special time of year up here in the southern most point of the great northern forest that inches down along Lake Michigan.

There are many birds that head south for the winter. One of my favorites is the Mourning Warbler, a tiny little bird that likes to hang out in the thick vegetation.  This bird has a sweet chirry chirry song and heads down to the northern park of South America in the winter. It’s a beautiful little bird with a gray head, black neck patch and yellow body.  Easy to spot if one is patient.

Happy birding mi amigos.

From the Author: I enjoy bird watching especially during the fall migration.
