The 44th annual Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup International Steeplechase Race will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013. This will also be the 4th annual “Saluting Our Military” celebration.
Gates open at 9:00 am with ticket prices beginning at $25.00…you can also buy tickets upon arrival and there is a parking fee for parking on the grounds. If you’re a dog lover, you don’t want to miss the terrier dog races. Their practice race starts at 9:30 am.
This is a family-oriented event with lots of fun and laughter. For the kids there will be pony rides, face painting, carousel, mule wagon rides and a petting zoo. For the older generation there will be live bluegrass/folk music in the infield.
First horse race is scheduled to start at 12:30 pm. The Colonial Cup Race will be the 4th race with approximately a 2:15 pm post time. There will be 35-40 minutes between each race, and races are run rain or shine. You don’t want to miss this event as it is the “Superbowl of Steeplechase”.

From the Author: Our family loves the fall steeplechase race! There will be near 25,000 people attending (much smaller than the 70,000 who attend the spring race); but, there is plenty of space for everyone. The dog trails, especially the tiny puppies, are really fun to see. You can buy food/drink in the park, but tailgating is more fun.
