Located in the Wallingford neighborhood is Tilth, one of the first totally organic and sustainable restaurants in the country, started in 2006. Owner and chef Maria Hines (also of Iron chef fame) has gone on to open 2 more restaurants in Seattle but this one is still our favorite.

Located in a small house in a local neighborhood my husband’s favorite eat here is the duck sliders, and mine is the hangar steak. Clearly we are carnivores, but what I like about this place is that the food is great and it caters to many diets. They have a vegan tasting menu that a friend of mine raves about. Service is excellent, everything is organic, and it is a true foodie experience.

Tilth is a special occasion place for us and we always think of it when family is in town as it showcases a lot of the best ingredients the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
