Description:

Every Sunday morning, after serving breakfast and visiting with my guests I venture a short drive to the Pahoa Farmer’s Market.  I park and start off to find my treasures for the week, large market basket in hand.  It always starts out empty, but soon it will be overflowing.  Wander among the various local farmers and vendors.  Ask for a taste if you have never seen or heard of an item.

Rain or shine every single Sunday the Pahoa Farmers Market takes place.  The farmers start arriving just before daylight.  My favorite is the Kapoho Orchid Nursery, fresh orchids, eggs, pond lilies, and friendly chat and advise.  Don’t miss the fresh coconut stand, they will open one up for you to sip and refresh during your journey.  Many folks are there every Sunday, and we have those who show up occasionally.  It is always an adventure.  If your visiting the area, stop by, lunch items being served and a great place to pick up local treasures.

Local papayas 3 for $1, fresh lilikoi in season, mangos-all the different varieties, there are over 20!  Fresh jams, breads, honey, crafts.

Before you know it, my market basket is full, overflowing with this Sunday’s finds.  I trek back to my car, load it in and away I go, until next week that is.  I do enjoy
