Mountain Man has been making exceptional handcrafted jewelry for over 30 years. It’s family owned, started and has grown to include a new headquarters in Chester, Vermont. Joe Tourigny and his son, Mashach, create designs that are meticulously carved old coins using a jeweler’s saw. Plain silver coins are transformed into works of art, such as trees of life, grandchildrens’ names, or any custom design you can imagine.

You can watch them work right in the corner of the shop.

The location is what makes this so unique. Mountain Man Marketplace consists of a series of miniature buildings, all connected by garden pathways and goldfish ponds. You can start with jewelry, head over to buy some Vermont maple syrup, browse through antiques and books, then keep on going to get Vermont’s best lobster roll or an angus burger from Shack’s Grill.
