The Morris Museum, located approximately two miles from the center of Morristown, NJ is a hidden gem. Housed in an historic mansion in a beautiful residential neighborhood, it’s the third largest museum in the state, with a permanent collection of more than 40,000 objects. In addition to the collection, which ranges from rocks and minerals, model trains and mechanical musical instruments, there is a 312-seat theater (the Bickford), which produces and presents professional productions including musicals, comedies, dramas and musical series’ of a variety of genres. Supplementing the permanent exhibition is a wide array of limited run and traveling exhibitions.

Navigating the museum on your own is very easy, but periodically during the day, docents will conduct informative tours of the collections.

Admission is $10 per person; seniors are admitted for $7.

Hours of operation:

Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday through Saturday 11:00- 5:00
Sunday 12:00-5:00

Closed: New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

Admission is “pay as you wish” for all visitors on the second and third Thursday of each month from 4:00-8:00 pm.
