Description:

Perched on the edge of the sea, the Landfall restaurant in Woods Hole has been serving the highest quality New England-style seafood for over 60 years.  Owned by the same family for several generations, this institution on the waterfront in Woods Hole is best known for its boiled lobsters, baked scrod and delicious fried clams.

Right near the Martha’s Vineyard Steamship Authority ferry terminal, the Landfall is a great place to grab a summer cocktail where an old boat serves as one of several charming bars.  The dark rafters are larded with old buoys, life preservers, ancient fishing gear, and many of the beams and portholes came from salvaged ships.  French doors open to a wonderful deck with the tide lapping on the docks below and the predominant southwesterly breeze keeping you cool.

Boaters are welcome to tie up to the dock in front of the Landfall, and many a great party starts here as the sun sets over the Woods Hole passage.  From here, you can watch the Steamship Authority ferries come and go, and while away a summer’s day with your pint of Cape Cod beer or your chilled Pinot Grigio.

Late evenings, the Landfall hosts local bands and young people from all over the Upper Cape flock to a great party.  Cover charge typically applies.  The Landfall is open from April through Christmas.  There is valet parking around the corner on Railroad Avenue in summer, but ample parking in the off-season at meters in Woods Hole.
