Description:

Hunger n Thirst is a new and welcome addition to Lancaster’s pub and restaurant scape, but the great thing is it is different from the rest. Not only is it a gastro pub with an amazing list of craft beer, but it is also a fine cheese and meat shop. Really great salami, local and imported cheese, olives and accompaniments, everything you could possibly need for cocktail hour. The menu here is has a good variety of small plates. I had the asparagus fries and the mussels, and both were incredible. The fries are hand cut, and the burger with fondue was amazing. The flank steak was a hit at our table as well. The draft beer list was one of the best I have seen anywhere. I had a Belgian Gulden Draak but the list also has local brews and some well known micros on tap.

There is a bottle room here as well with well over 200 bottles of some really good beer at, what I find to be very good prices. The guy that was tending the bottle room was incredibly helpful and knew his stuff. The owner here, Andrew Neff, knows his beer and it shows in the selections in both bottle room and tap room.

The retail space is not to be missed. Ask for Sam. He knows more about cheese than anyone I have ever met. The case displayed artisan cheese from Vermont, Indiana and Lancaster County. There is a whole selection of nitrate free salami, herbed ham, pates and olives. They provide the meats and cheese for the charcuterie and cheese trays which are available to purchase.

You will also find some fun kitchen items here as well as baskets and specialty foods.
