Tis the season for fresh and locally sourced vegetables and fruits to begin arriving at the historic downtown Farmers & Artisan Market. A trip to the market is great fun for persons of all ages. Arkansas strawberries are nearly ripe for the picking, and my mouth is watering anticipating the bounties of the late spring/early summer goodness!
At the Hot Springs Farmers & Artisans Market, you’ll find not only the freshest produce locally grown, you’ll also discover local honey, local free range chicken, pork, and beef. The best bacon that I’ve ever tasted comes from JV Farms, a vendor at the Farmers Market. You can even order half of a pig! Of course, there are plenty of offerings for vegetarians, especially localy grown and delicious beans and root vegetables.
You’ll discover fresh flowers, homemade soaps, freshly baked breads all while entertained by live music. It’s a great way to spend a Saturday morning!
From the Author: Check out sugar scrub at the Lark Martin booth, made by our friend Briana! Keeps your hands soft and smooth. You'll also find Doc the knife sharpener at the market. Just bring your kitchen knives for some fine-tuning. The Farmers Market is a great place to people and dog watch, enjoy some good music, and source fresh local food.
