There is no more appropriate place on Cape Cod than Sandwich for the art of glassblowing. Known as the “glass town” during the heyday of the pressed glass industry, many glass artists reside here. Michael Magyar, owner of the Glass Studio on Cape Cod, is exceptionally gifted at his craft. His work is as diverse as it is beautiful and is featured in museums and private collections in the United States and Japan.

The Glass Studio is where Magyar creates his glass pieces. His work is sold in the gift shop on the upper level of the building and he works on the lower level. You can find him there most days where he welcomes visitors to watch as he works. The process is as interesting to observe as the pieces he creates and it is really exciting to watch the master apply his craft.

Mr. Magyar has created many collections but none more sought after than his “Sea Bubble” collection. These beautiful pieces are reminiscent of the sea, depicting the waves and the dunes in the design. The pieces in this collection include glasses, bowls, vases, and the ever popular sea bubble filled with beach sand and shells.

In the gift shop are stunning glass starfish, shells, candlesticks, and mermaids. A visit to Sandwich is not complete without a stop at the Glass Studio.
