If you’re looking for a beautiful scenic hike in the picturesque state of Virginia, then why not try Fallingwater Cascades? Fallingwater is a stunning 1.6 mile hike near Bedford, Virginia. It is an overall moderate trek with a few steeper, more strenuous areas thrown in, but the difficulties of those areas are lessened by stone stairways and bridges (that also happen to be perfect places for photography). The average amount of time that it takes to traverse this lovely loop is 1.5 hours. (Dogs are also welcome on the trails of Fallingwater Cascades, so feel free to bring along your canine companion!)
The flowing cascades serve to enhance the brilliance of the natural scenery, making this a lovely hike for the intermediate traveler. (It is particularly beautiful around this time of year as the spring scenery starts blooming.) Grab a friend, a bottle of water, your dog, and a camera, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Fallingwater Cascades.
From the Author: Springtime is one of my favorite times of the year to go hiking. The weather is ideal—warmer than winter’s cold, but still escaping the heat and humidity of summer. Make sure to bring your camera with you to capture the beauty of your hike!
