Description:
Every town has it’s “hidden treasure” and for Ephrata, it’s the Ephrata Cloister Museum Store!
The store’s hours of operation follow that of the museum site. From April – October they’re open 7 days a week: Monday – Saturday, 9 – 5 pm and Sunday, noon – 5. During January and February the site is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. During November and December it’s closed on Mondays.
The Museum Store is full of charming, hand crafted, LOCALLY MADE items. The store manager has worked hard to establish relationships with the best Lancaster County artisans who sell their goods in the store, sometimes exclusively. You can find hand woven scarves and shalls, hand-thrown local pottery, Fraktur drawing prints, Scherenschnitte (German scissor-cut art), books about local history, locally made fragrant soaps and lots of unique, historically related, children’s items. There are also a number of beautiful drawings and photographic representations of the Ephrata Cloister site itself during various times of the year.
The Museum Store is also known as one of the best places in the county to find Ned Foltz pottery. They offer everything from small Christmas ornaments and commemorative Cloister plates, to large Redware platters and serving pieces.
If you’re looking for a unique, handcrafted, local gift in a wide range of prices, the Ephrata Cloister Museum Store should be the first stop on your quest!
