From the Author: In 1975 the Edmund Fitzgerald sunk in one of the deadliest storms on Lake Superior. We were just moving to Duluth that month and were house shopping the weekend after the Fitzgerald was lost. I remember the eerie color of the lake being reddish-brown from all the wind and storm surge. Not long after we joined the Duluth Newcomers Club, I met women who had lost their husbands on that fateful night.
