Come and experience the fun, excitement, sights and sounds of the 2nd Annual Piscataquis Heritage Hot Air Balloon Festival coming to Dover Foxcroft in Piscataquis County Maine. For many years this community project has been in the planning and finally it’s here for the enjoyment of everyone. Its going to be an annual event where local residents, artisans, tradespeople, community groups and businesses all come together along the banks of the Piscataquis river with the founders of the celebration, The Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce and The Kiwanis Club of Dover Foxcroft.
The festival lasts for 3 days and will take place at the Charles A Chase Junior Memorial Field in Dover Foxcroft (just off route 7 and the Sangerville Rd)
As well as hot air balloons of differing shapes and size, you can even book your own place in a balloon ride while your there for one of those “once in a lifetime moments”. There will be night time balloon glows overlooking the Piscataquis river where the balloons are all in line and look just like giant stained glass windows reflecting in the water, food vendors, crafters and artisans, movie nights, live music, educational presentations, children’s activities, agricultural shows, exciting trade demos and so much more. You will have an amazing time!
From the Author: This is an excellent event. Dover Foxcroft is a wonderful former mill town. The balloon festival takes place right along the Piscataquis river. Its just $1 per day for entry to the festival. You can even book a flight in a balloon at the festival itself for about $250 a person. It all adds up to make a perfect day out.
