Description:

There were more millionaires in Duluth Minnesota per capita at the turn of the century than anywhere else in the country, and they built big beautiful mansions to show off their wealth. You can enjoy a tour of six of those beautiful homes on Sunday, September 18, 2016. The Duluth Preservation Alliance offers their 36th Annual Historic House Tour. The homes can be explored from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on that Sunday.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at the Duluth Preservation Alliance website or at Fitger’s Complex at 600 East Superior Street starting at 10 a.m. on the day of the tour. If you prefer to purchase tickets online, they will be emailed to you.

The Duluth Preservation Alliance’s mission is to advocate for the preservation of mansions and historic commercial buildings, landscapes and structures in Duluth. The proceeds of this home tour will help support the monumental restoration of the NorShor Theater currently underway in Downtown Duluth.

The six beautiful homes will be identified when you purchase your tickets and they will not disappoint! They each have a story to tell with beautiful grounds and gorgeous décor.

From the Author: Although the picture shows the historic home of George G. Barnum, which is now The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek Bed and Breakfast, our guests will be enjoying the property on September 18th and we will not be a part of the Duluth Preservation Alliance Historic Home Tour this year.
