Vikre Distillery is a recent new business located just steps from the Aerial Lift Bridge in Canal Park of Duluth Minnesota. The owners Joel and Emily Vikre are native of Duluth and foresaw a unique opportunity to create a different kind of niche business. They stand on the principle of using some of the best tasting water in the world from the Lake Superior Watershed along with products from deciduous forest flavors. They have created gin, aquavit, vodka and Sugarbush Whiskey. They gather and use herbs and materials from the northern forest region surrounding Duluth and up the North Shore.

The Vikre Distillery Visitor Center and Cocktail Room is open Monday through Sunday 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Free tours are offered daily at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a tasting flight or a cocktail from their many choices. Enjoy a delicious snack of salami, salmon, spiced nuts, blue cheese ball with caraway brittle, goat cheese, rye crackers and dill butter.

In the future will be more exotic beverages such as Northern Courage Smokey Rye, Temperance River Rye, Gunflint Bourbon and a special Iron Range single malt. Vikre Distillery was picked as the Best Specialty Spirits Distillery in the USA by USA Today Newspaper in 2016.
