Description:

Stoudts Brewing Company is an award winning micro-brewery started by Ed Stoudt back in 1987, well before micro-brews were all the rage they are today!

The brewery is connected to a restaurant, pub and antique mall that’s only open on Sundays.

If you’re interested in touring the brewery, they typically offer three tours on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.  Most days your tour guide will be none other than Ed Stoudt himself.  He LOVES making great beers and especially loves the history of beer making in the area and US in general.  You can hear the passion Ed has for beer-making as he tells his beer-making-stories.  He was an early pioneer in the industry and is quick to bash the big beer-makers (and the people who buy the stuff).  The tour tends to focus more on the history of beer making than on the PROCESS of making beer, so keep that in mind if you decide to take the tour.  Also note, Ed’s not too keen on people interrupting his stories with questions.  He’s 70+ years old… so hold your questions to the end so he get through his schtick without loosing track!

And of course, no trip to a great brewery would be complete without tasting the goods.  You can belly-up to the bar in the pub and buy a “sampler”… or just go “all in” and get a pint of something.  Either way, you won’t be disappointed by the selection.

They do sell individual bottles and six packs on site.  Stoudts is also available on tap at many Lancaster County restaurants and bars, and you can buy it by the case at beer distributors.
