Description:

One of the most popular activities while visiting Cape Cod is exploring the 11 mile scenic Shining Sea Bikeway.  This is a wonderfully flat bikepath that is enjoyed by bikers, hikers, walkers, joggers etc.  Heading south you can experience the wonders of seeing Osprey flying to their massive nests on various posted stations.  One of the most picturesque areas is cycling along Surf Drive Beach on Vineyard Sound and watching the ferries head over to Martha’s Vineyard. Heading north on the bikeway you will cycle through lush marsh areas as well as cranberry bogs.

Perhaps a stop along the path by Oyster Pond or Salt Pond may be in store as you enjoy nature.  At the southern end of the bikeway you will arrive in Woods Hole Village.  Woods Hole is a village rich in history and home to the Woods Hole Oceanograhic Institute.  While in the Village explore the Aquarium and the WHOI exhibit center with a great exhibit of the Titanic including Alvin the submarine involved in the Titanic explorations.
