Description:

John Jacob Astor was a German immigrant who lived out the American Dream coming to America and when he died in 1848, he was the “most prosperous” man in America. He owned a fur-trading outpost on the St. Louis River and from the profits, he invested and owned numerous businesses and enterprises. So it is only right that the restaurant on the 16th floor of the Radisson Duluth Hotel with a view of our beautiful city and Lake Superior along with the St. Louis River is named in his honor. To “top it off” the restaurant slowly revolves so that you can take in the glorious views while you enjoy some of the best dining in our town. The restaurant offers fine dining with upscale décor and a staff that works very hard to please each and every guest.

You may choose from breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and the JJ Astor Restaurant provides an extensive children’s menu and a great wine list. The martinis are delivered filled to the brim and the bartenders are experienced and aim to please. Your dinner may begin with Oyster Mushroom Rockefeller, sea scallops, crab cakes or spiced pecans as an appetizer. Blackberry, smoked salmon or Caesar salads are delicious along with a hearty soup of the day.

For dinner the choices are endless and all delicious. Wonderful cuts of steaks, rack of lamb, walleye and salmon prepared to perfection, a duck breast or brined chicken are entrée choices sure to please.

The JJ Astor Restaurant won a Diners’ Choice Award in 2010 from OpenTable.com and has received very favorable press. Whether you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, first date, or just a romantic dinner out, the JJ Astor Restaurant will provide the perfect atmosphere and delightful food. Parking is convenient in the Radisson ramp behind the hotel.

From the Author: Many of our guests have enjoyed this restaurant during their stay in Duluth. The view is incredible especially at holiday time when the Bentleyville Light display is glowing by the shores of Lake Superior. Make sure you dine slowly and enjoy every minute so that you can take in all the views of Duluth as the restaurant slowly revolves.
