Located in the quaint town of Pahoa is a great little Health/Natural Food Store, Island Naturals.

This place is packed full of anything you could need including a wide selection of gluten-free, sugar-free, and Non-GMO options.   The daily Hot Bar specials are always a hit, with vegan/vegetarian choices and a plentiful salad bar, in fact they just won ”Best of East Hawaii” for the 13^th year in a row!   Fresh sushi is made on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the best lava chicken sushi, mmmm.  You can choose from several packaged deli items & salads, my favorite is the gluten free cilantro hummus with a bag of pita chips!  Or choose to order at the counter, for a custom sandwich, smoothie, milk shake, or fresh juice blend.  Now on tap is local Kombucha a local favorite.

Should you have a kitchen at your disposal this is the place to shop.  You can order a custom take and bake pizza, or choose from local fresh fish, and local organic beef.  While strolling through the store don’t miss the produce department, you can’t miss it there is a beautiful painted honu (turtle) above it.  Check out local fruits and vegetables you won’t find anywhere else in town (unless of course your staying at a local farm).  Mangos of every shape and size, my favorite now in season are Dragon Fruit and Lychee.   Fresh baked bread, local organic cheese cakes, pies, carrot cake, I could go on and on, stop in and see for yourself.

At any rate this is the place to go for your snacks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices.  Looking for a gift to take home or for yourself? Don’t miss the local soaps, lotions, and fragrances.  The staff is always friendly and helpful.  You can take your treasures found there to go or sit outside at one of the many tables to enjoy your feast, or relax with that bottle of cool water.  Island Naturals is a Breast Feeding supportive environment.
