Description:

An Italian immigrant named Rosa Brochi ran a boarding house in Duluth Minnesota for lonely sailors in the Twin Ports area and was lovingly known as Grandma. Two generations later, her grandson opened Grandma’s Saloon & Grill in 1976 in the same location that Rosa ran her boarding house. Today Grandma’s Saloon and Grill is a legend in Duluth and a place not to be missed for lunch or dinner during your stay in our beautiful port city.

Located at the foot of the Aerial Lift Bridge in Canal Park, Grandma’s Saloon & Grill is your perfect viewing place to enjoy ships sailing under the bridge and listening to the sounds of the bridge and ship horns as they salute one another. The outdoor deck on the upper floor is a fun place to gather and enjoy great food and drinks.

The menu at Grandma’s Saloon and Grill goes on forever and they are well known for their Wild Rice soup and delicious onion rings. Choose from appetizers, salads, steaks, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, or fish. The restaurant opens Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. and at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

From the Author: Shortly after Grandma's Saloon and Grill opened, I was proud to be a participant in the Welcome Wagon's fashion show which took place at the restaurant. The fashion show featured hand made women's fashions and I proudly walked the runway almost nine months pregnant in my maternity outfit that I sewed just for the occasion. I remember that event fondly each and every time we enjoy dinner at Grandma's Saloon and Grill.
