Description:

Grace Patriot Wines is a family winery. Steve and Bea Grace, and sons Trevor and Tylor, own the winery and make its wines. They have 25-year-old pinot vines, and planted 12 varietals in 2002. They make their smooth, flavorful wines in small batches.

Their winery is beautiful year-round. Grace Patriot sits on a ridge top, at an altitude of 2,800 feet. This makes for gorgeous views, cool comfortable summer days, and great weather for growing grapes. In the summer, enjoy weekend evening music events on the patio. The cabernet vines ring the patio so you can see where your wine comes from! On cool evenings, they fire up the outdoor fire pit for a cozy feel in the foothills.

All their wines have a smooth flavor. They have an unusual dessert wine called “Fashionably Late.” It is not overly sweet, and has an unusual pear flavor that we found delightful.

The tasting room offers local olive oils, honey made by the family, shirts and hats, cookbooks, and other wine-themed novelities. They are the only winery in California to sell a “Wine-a-Rita” mix. Some summer days they give tastings of this cool delight.

Enjoy the history as well as the wine. The winery is name after Lewis Grace, who fought for American Independence in the Revolutionary war. Today’s vineyards surround the original 1885 Irving barn and ranch house.

Open every day but Tuesday.

From the Author: We love coming here to get away from the bustle and get fresh air and great views. It's a great romantic destination year-round, and on Valentine’s Day they just might have a chocolate fountain and a new wine release - give them a call to see how this year looks for wine and romance.
