The Niagara County Antique Trail runs right down the main street in Lewiston and one of the stops on that trail is The Country Doctor, so named because their first location was an old dotor’s office building. Relocated now to a storefront on the other side of the street across from the local filling station, this shop is a co-op of antique vendors who bring a fair variety of good quality items to choose from.  

After estate sales this inventory spills out onto the apron in front of the store, all tastefully arranged to good advantage. You will find furniture, kitchen items, toys, items of clothing, books, statuary, china, silver, jewelry, and the list goes on.  Be sure to look up because there are always interesting lamps and small items hung from the ceiling.  

While there is always someone on hand to assist you, there are no pushy sales tactics here, and the staff is familiar with other vendors on the trail and can direct you if they know what you are looking for and it is something another location may be better able to assist you with.  (Think “Miracle on 34th Street” helpful.)  Even if you think you are not in the market for an antique, this shop is worth a “look see,”  who knows what treasure you might find.
