“Be Brave. Be Kind. Don’t Eat Bad Bread.” That is the slogan from the Amazing Grace Bakery & Café located in Canal Park in beautiful Duluth Minnesota. The café began to serve the homeless, serving the community and helping out its neighbors. The legacy lives on today as this establishment is a favorite of folks who live in Duluth and those who visit. On the lower level of the DeWitt Seitz Marketplace building is a quaint café with indoor and seasonal outdoor seating. It all started twenty years ago as just a bakery and then they added great coffee and soon customers wanted lunch and sweets! Live music is a part of the café also and the owners strive to produce homemade food and a hometown atmosphere.
Amazing Grace Bakery & Café is open Sunday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Daily breakfast is served 7 a.m. until noon.
The breakfast menu is extensive offering exciting entrees and many choices of scones, muffins, coffee cakes and sweets. The sandwiches for lunch are delicious and the bread made from scratch can’t be beat! Cookies, parfaits, cupcakes, pies and cheesecake make a delicious ending to your dining experience.

From the Author: The current owner Marcie is planning to retire in December, 2016. Her son Connor will take over ownership of the café soon. Marcie and I went to elementary school, junior high school and high school together in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We were in a "Brownie" group together and find it really great that we both ended up in Duluth Minnesota owning our own business!
