Alton Square Mall is small and local, so you will not have to worry about big crowds when shopping. Alton Square Mall is home to a variety of retail stores, including Macy’s and J.C. Penney’s, as well as several small kiosks. Other amenities include a post office, a full-scale branch of Hayner Public Library recently opened in 2009, and several quality restaurants. The mall also opens its doors to many other seasonal shops and kiosks (for example, Hickory Farms and a calendar shop) during the holidays.

The second Saturday of each month, Alton’s local animal shelter, the 5A’s Humane Society, will bring ready-to-adopt dogs to the mall from 11 am – 3 pm near the main entrance on the lower level.
