The Shack is one of Staunton’s newest and most popular restaurants, and it’s made quite a name for itself in its year and a half of existence.
The eatery is owned and run by Chef Ian Boden, a nominee of the James Beard Award, who was formerly renowned for his culinary creations at Staunton Grocery. While many are talking about The Shack’s grass-fed, local beef burgers, their menu also includes a wide array of other offerings as well—pulled lamb stew, grilled octopus, Wagyu oyster steak, Berkshire garlic sausage, braised beef brisket, Sardinian gnocchi, and a whole lot more. These offerings are the highest of quality and absolutely, mouth-wateringly delicious. Chef Boden posts the daily menu on The Shack’s Facebook page, so be sure to give them a “like” for the latest updates. (Menu items change regularly, depending on what ingredients are available from local farmers.) It’s a true farm-to-table experience!

From the Author: It’s really hard to put into words how delicious Chef Boden’s dishes are. One doesn’t usually find such high-quality meals in such a small, modest establishment, but Ian Boden has succeeded in making a name for both himself and his food. (Plus, each meal can be complimented by a local wine or brew offering, heightening your tasty experience.) Eat and enjoy!
