Located in the heart of Downtown Ypsilanti, the Bona Sera Cafe is a large space with big windows that look out on the swiftly moving traffic.

The sandwich board sign welcoming diners touts their “Shrimp and grits” specialty. The delicious grits serve as a base for any number of toppings including porchetta, chicken, seitan or tofu, scallops and catfish.  The menu reflects the eclectic tastes of the two owners and chefs, “Wonder Woman” and “Bad Fairy”… the pseudonyms they used during their 3 years doing underground dinners in various locations to raise money for community causes.

In 2012 they  opened the Bona Sera Cafe and haven’t looked back.  All of the food is prepared with fresh ingredients and great culinary skill with a twist to delight your palette.  A recent addition to the cafe is a wide selection of specialty cocktails, served up in the bar area featuring comfortable sofas and chairs.  The menus also includes, soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts, so there is something for everyone to savor and enjoy.

Dining hours are Tuesday -Thursday 11 AM  to  9 PM; Friday 11 AM to 10 PM; Saturday Noon -10 PM and Saturday brunch Noon to 3 PM.
