Description:

The Trading Moon Festival will fill the Village of Sautee with over 100 vendors displaying handmade items and art, along with live music, food, and wine.

For hundreds of years the Cherokee Indians, who inhabited the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys have called the full moon following harvest the Trading Moon. On the day of the Trading Moon they would gather to trade goods, services and food to ensure they had adequate supplies for the coming winter and celebrate with dancing into the evening.

This contemporary version of the Trading Moon Festival will pay homage to the Cherokee tradition and will include all the local establishments, including Sautee Nacoochee Vineyards, Bernie’s Restaurant and the Old Sautee Store, along with dozens of other food vendors.

Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn & Spa is located near the Trading Moon Festival and provides a great spot for relaxing after a day of “trading”, food, music, and wine.
