I’m hanging up my snow shovel and digging out my gardening gloves. The 18th Annual Springfest Garden Show will be held this week in the Conservatory of the Sussex County Fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. As in the past, the area’s prominent landscape companies have been busy all winter designing their displays and building their glorious gardens.

Avid gardeners will love walking around to get inspiration for their own outdoor projects. It’s also a great way to meet with well-established, reputable landscape companies. Most of the companies exhibiting have been doing so since the first show.

Kids are always welcome, and in fact, there’s a special “Kids Plant Your Own Zone”, which is designed to introduce children to the enjoyment of gardening.

Horticulture devotees will also enjoy the panel of experts who will be presenting on a variety of relevant topics, with an emphasis on cooking from your own garden.

Springfest was founded to establish a scholarship fund for New Jersey students who were preparing for a career in horticulture and agriculture, and has consistently been named as the state’s finest garden show.
