The Millbrook Library’s 2015 Winter Concert Series is offering an afternoon with the band “Uncommon Ground” from Chester New York. If you’re a fan of bluegrass music, you will definitely want to check them out. The group features five classically trained musicians, a string quartet, plus one. Violin, bass, mandolin, guitar and vocals with a bluegrass influence.
The musicians, Mike Kobetitsch and Wayne Fugate are veterans of Bluegrass music, Grammy award winner, Lisa Gutkin, and Rachel Handman and Phil Helm are two members of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic. They have been called “One of the most talented and entertaining bands around”.
These free concerts are a lovely way to get to know the charming hamlet of Millbrook, located along the Hudson River and just 90 minutes upstate from New York City. Visitors will find several cafe’s in town where they can enjoy a bite to eat before or after the concert performance – but don’t forget, refreshments will be offered at the music venue!
