Description:

These days, there are few things that one can share with the youth of today and be truly transported to ones own youth.  Ice Skating is such a thing.  This frosty yet festively fun activity is guaranteed to put laughter in your heart and a big smile on your face.  We suggest you visit The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink which is located on the National Mall at 7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW.

The Sculpture Garden Ice Rink at The National Gallery of Art is open through mid-March, if weather permits. View magnificent works of sculpture while skating in the open air as you skate to the music from the state-of-the-art sound system.  Admission is only $8 and if you care to admit that you qualify for the Senior rate, you have only to pay $7 (same for children and students).  They accept the top 3 Credit Cards therefore, you don’t have to worry about losing your cash whilst executing your axel jump or gracefully leaning into a spiral.  After impressing the fellow amateur skaters, you and your friends and family can relax and revive at the Pavilion Café.   With a panoramic view of the Sculpture Garden, the cafe’ serves freshly made wraps, sandwiches, gourmet pizzas, and salads. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, wine, and beer are also available.

The rink is open Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.  Friday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.  Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.  There’s no excuse for boredom if you are in Washington DC this Winter.
