A Tuscarawas County Christmas tradition for the past 17 years,  free event at Tuscora Park, Christmas in the Park.  Griving back to the community,  Jan McInturf started Christmas in the Park after a visit to the Cincinnati Zoo during  Christmas  over 18 years ago.  The zoo was decked out for the holidays and McInturf thought Tuscora Park in, New Philadelphia, Ohio would be the perfect setting for a similar event.

Sunday December 22 from 4 pm – 8 pm, Tuscora Park becomes a Christmas fairy tale with events geared to young and old alike.  The entire event is free with the exception of hot dogs which are $1.00 each.  The happening includes: carriage rides through Story Book Lane, live Nativity, live reindeer, costumed characters, musical entertainment, pictures with Santa, cookie decorating in Mrs. Claus’s kitchen, pony rides, face painting, ice and balloon sculpting, free refreshments which include coffee, hot chocolate and cookies.

Each year local citizens flock to the park for this event, there is always a rain date but the celebration has never moved to the rain date.  5000+ people turn out for this local Christmas celebration, this is one of the joys of small town Midwest living, everyone is friendly and newcomers are welcomed with open arms.  One will not be disappointed with a visit to the park.  Christmas in the Park is McInturf Realty’s gift to the community.  All the Realtor’s along with businesses working with the realtor’s donate their time to bring this awesome event to the community.  Merry Christmas from Tuscarawas County, Ohio!
