Description:

Saturday & Sunday, March 7th & 8th 2015 you can experience a treat of a lifetime: Behind the Cellar Doors at Cooper Vineyards. Dick Cooper has spent a lifetime in his fields with his vines and has been able to grow some of the most prolific grape vines in California. The terrior of the Cooper Vineyards is known worldwide and has produced more than its fair share of gold medal winning wines from the several varietals grown in the vineyards. The most famous being the Barbera.

Behind the Cellar Door gives you the opportunity to enjoy many varieties of great wines from the bottle & barrel paired with nibbles of great gourmet foods prepared by local caterers,  along with a diverse array of entertainment, demonstrations, tours and seminars, library and vertical tastings and live music. At Cooper Vineyards the fun begins at 11:00 -4:45 Saturday and continues through Sunday. This weekend, Cooper will be offering 6 reds, 4 whites, a rose, and two dessert wines for your tasting enjoyment paired with foods for the individual variety of wine.

This is part of the Amador Vintners Association’s Annual Event where 42 wineries in Amador County share their wares for the weekend. Tickets are $50 and available at Amador Vintners.

From the Author: Behind the Cellar Doors has been a favorite of many guests at Lucinda's Country Inn. Located just 10 minutes from the Amador Wine Country guests of Lucinda's find it an easy drive and it is almost impossible to get lost. Dick Cooper's reputation as a grower is unsurpassed. His grapes have made many of the Fair Play Wine Country wineries award winners. In fact, his Barbera grapes have garnered more Gold Medals from more wine competitions than any other Barbera grapes in California. With that lineage for his Barbera well established, Dick Cooper started the Barbera Festival a few years ago at his winery. Check out the Barbera Festival in June; this year it's at the Terra D'orro Winery, just down the road from the Cooper Vineyards.
