New to the music scene, the Australian pop punk/pop rock group, 5 Seconds of Summer, got it’s auspicious start in 2011 as YouTube celebrities posting videos of themselves covering well known musical groups..members Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin write their own songs and play their own instruments.

Early into their almost overnight success and with little to no promotion except for their exposure on Facebook and Twitter…they released an extended play entitled Unplugged, which reached number 3 on the iTunes chart in Australia and reached the Top 20 in New Zealand and Sweden. 5 Seconds To Summer rose to international fame when the group One Direction invited them on their Take Me Home Tour.  In February 2014 the groups’  recording She Looks So Perfect became their first worldwide release.  The Band’s self-titled album on Capitol Records rocketed to the #1 spot on Billboard in June of 2014.

The group was the recipient of the Oz Artist Award in 2013, The Best International Newcomer Award presented by Troxy in 2014, and MTV’s Buzzworthy’s Favorite Breathrough Band in 2014, among other awards.
