Description:

The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a Broadway Musical that is being performed by the East Texas Performing Arts group right here in Jefferson, Texas.

This production marks the beginning of the 2014 Summer Theatre and Country Music Festival. This is the 3rd year this group has brought fine theater to Jefferson in the summertime, when the weather is hot and sticky outside you can enjoy an evening or afternoon in the comfort of air-conditioning while delighting in live entertainment.

I am intrigued by the things I have read about this play. It was written by Charles Dickens who unfortunately died before it was finished so now it is anybody’s guess as to the ending. So the play could have any number of endings. Now that’s fun!

I have also read that because it is a Dickens Play with a possible murder and so many characters it could be anyone who committed the murder. Now here is the twist, the audience gets the chance to decide who done it. I can’t wait to see this.

Tickets for the Mystery of Edwin Drood – $20 – students $15 ($24 at the door)

This is to date the biggest theatrical production the group has done. Sarah and her group of exceptional actors are up for the task though. Sarah has a way of bringing out the best in people. When I say the group of actresses and actors are exceptional, I really mean they are a group of kids, young adults and adults who are amazing to watch as their talents grow and blossom. The way they all help each other out is refreshing. Plus when they are on the stage they bring the play to life for the audiences.

Tickets are on sale now, pick yours up today by visiting the website at the link above.

From the Author: Since this is a new theatrical production, I had nothing to shoot a photo of other than a poster. Posters are nice but nothing beats sneaking into the building where the plays will be and shooting a picture of 2 of the backgrounds.
