There is nothing quite like seeing the rapids on the Niagara River up close and personal.  The Jet Boats leave the Lewiston dock and travel upriver to the Whirlpool, created over 4200 years ago by Niagara Falls.  You can view the whirlpool from above at Whirlpool State Park but you will not get a sense of the power of the river until you are riding on it.  Bring a towel and plan to be soaked from head to toe.  On the way to the whirlpool you will make a stop at Devils Hole, known as the Mount Everest of white water and the Jetboat’s playground.  This is where you find out just how tall the waves can get as they pass beside you and the boat catches one or two head on.  You will also pass at the outlet of the Power Plant and see from eye level the three enormous power generating stations, one of North America’s man made marvels.

You are reminded to bring a towel and a change of clothing, be in good health, a minimum of 44″ tall and arrive 45 minutes early for your ride.  You can make reservations for a particular ride or arrive before the 45 minute suggested time and take your chances as this is a most popular destination for tour buses.
