Looking for local fun in Darien? Meet the wine guys, Russ and Mike, at Waterfront Wine and Gourmet.  That’s right wine and gourmet in Darien. The Wine Guys, who hail from Athens,  Georgia, brought wine, gourmet foods and lots of fun to historic downtown Darien. With a wine selection from around the globe and a great craft beer selection you are bound to find something you like. Check out the gourmet grocery selection offering ‘Georgia Made Georgia Grown’ buffalo meat, selection of Georgia cheeses, local honey and even Phickles all the way from Athens, GA.

After shopping in the wine store you have several options. Sip your beverages under the umbrella tables out front, wander through the shops next door or head to the wine bar at the back of the store. It’s kind of like stepping into an old fashioned speakeasy… but legal.

The wine bar has live music every Friday and Saturday night and some other times, too, just depending on what’s going on. This is a great place to meet local characters and other folks from the area as well as fellow travelers. The wine bar has large windows overlooking the Darien River and some awesome sunsets. Speaking of the river, ask Mike or Russ about the evening wine cruise departing Thursday through Saturday weather permitting and other times, too, depending on what’s going on.
