Valley Shepherd Creamery is a family-owned, self-sustaining sheep farm set on 120 pristine acres of farmland in northern New Jersey. Spending a day at the farm can be quite an adventure. Begin your visit at the Sheep Shoppe where you can nibble on a variety of artisan cheeses, buy cheese-related gadgets and sample other comestibles.

Also offered are several interesting tours. During May and June, you can see hundreds of fluffy little lambs and watch the cheese makers at work. The Fall Harvest Tour is offered from early September through mid-November. Not only will you be able to see the brilliant fall colors, but visitors get a first-hand look at sheep milking and the cheese aging cave as well.

The creamery also offers a several special events such as the annual sheep shearing tours, cheese-making classes and wine and cheese dinners. Reservations are required to participate in these events, and because they are extremely popular, they fill up quickly.
