The Lil Country Store and Miniature Horse Farm is open Monday thru Saturday from 9 am – 5 pm.  Closed Sundays and religious holidays.

This Amish-owned business gives visitors a little bit of everything… there are things to SEE like  a barn full of adorable miniature horses; pristine Amish buggies you can see parked in the barn; and a wood shop where they make things like picture frames, benches, bird houses and other home-decor items (check out the air-powered tools!).  There are things to DO, like a pony ride for the kiddos.  And of course, there are things to BUY in the charming country store.

The miniature horses are too cute for words with their little heads poking out of the specially designed windows for them in each stall.  The family raises these horses to sell predominately to other Amish families, who purchase them for their young children to hook up to small carts & ride around their farms.  Think “motorized barbie dream car” for Amish kids!!  If you’re lucky, you can even pay for your child to take a ride (either saddle or cart) on one of the horses!  There is no charge to tour the horse barn or woodworking shop.

The country store is immediately next door to the shop, and has all sorts of foods and craft items for sale.  There are jams, jellies, sauces, pickles & relishes that are canned by either the shop owners or other local families.  They also sell baked goods like whoopie pies and pies, and snack foods like seasoned pretzels & potato chips.  There are also a number of decorative items, toys, leather goods, quilts & quillows, aprons and so on.  You’ll have absolutely no problem finding the perfect souvenir to bring home from your Lancaster County vacation.
