Description:

If you are looking for a Wow experience, go enjoy the Sunday brunch from 10 AM – 2PM at the Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks, a short ride from the city of Branson, MO.

The center is very rustic and was designed to reflect a Maine Lodge (Dobyns Hall) displayed at the 1904 World’s Fair. What’s wonderful about this brunch it is run, mostly, by students from the College. The prep work begins each Friday. The best part is it is made from the freshest food and mostly grown locally by the students (I. E. Pigs, chickens, fresh vegetables etc.).

At this College for over 100 years, the students work in agriculture as well as education. There is no tuition for the students but they must work 15 hours per week in all avenues of the environment by working on a farm, building houses, cooking just to name a few. And they have no student debt when they graduate. Can you believe that!

At the brunch you chose hot entrees & side dishes, salad and cold cuisine, carved meat, breakfast selections, made to order waffles & omelets and the freshest fruits and cheeses. Each morsel is so tasty and fresh. You can top it off with 20+ choices of specially made desserts.

All the students are friendly and helpful and always ready to extend their helping hands. What a great find to enjoy on a Sunday.

After brunch I chatted with Kathlyn, the restaurant manager, who was very pleasant and offered a tour of their lovely suites (Mabee Lodge) also built by the students in 2006 after 4 years of hard work. Loved every moment there and did not leave hungry. A sure bet!

From the Author: While vacationing in Branson, after planning the country shows to see during the week, I asked for a place to go for lunch. Sharon, the concierge said you must go to the Sunday Brunch at the College of the Ozarks. After getting lost in the mountains, I finally came upon this beautiful Country Lodge, a site to behold. From the moment I walked in till the moment I left, I enjoyed the experience. I write about places in Cape May, NJ, but was so taken back by this fabulous gem in the Midwest. A must go for sure!
