Union Jacks, ale on tap, and all things British welcome you in this British version of “Cheers.” It’s authentic for sure, having been vetted by no less than BBC America as one of 10 British things about New Orleans (the list includes another alcoholic specialty, the Pimms Cup!)

Don’t expect to find anything to eat but packets of “crisps,” but do stay to throw darts, pub-style, and participate in the lively Pub Quiz every Thursday at 8:00 PM. Sometimes there’s live music and in July there’s a British Invasion Party. The first Friday of every month finds customers at First Friday Cask Night, getting pints from a tapped cask of a seasonal specialty. You’re a world apart from New Orleans when you land in historic, quaint Algiers anyway. At The Crown and Anchor English Pub, you’re across the ocean too, not just the river. And everyone knows your name.
