Description:
So, found myself on Lower Queen Anne yesterday about lunchtime and was thinking where to grab a bite when I remembered that I was just a couple of blocks from one of my favorite places, the Boat Street Kitchen and Cafe, so off I went.
Now I have only been here for dinner before but I seemed to remember that they had a great lunch menu and the idea of a French style cafe appealed to me today. Located on Western, a little north of the Pike Market and almost to the Interbay area, “down the ramp” as the sign says of an office building you will find the Boat Street Kitchen and Cafe. This is Renee Erickson’s first restaurant ( she now has a few others in Seattle) and frankly this one has always been my favorite as it emphasizes simple French cooking.
I did not get a table on the patio as it was crowded but inside, with high ceilings, fans, and tables with white cloths, it was pristine and French Country style at its best, and the food was, well, exactly what I wanted. I enjoyed a nice piece of Wild King Salmon, grilled and placed on top of a salad with fresh spinach, beets, and fennel. The salmon was topped with a creamy pesto sauce that was well, to die for! Served with a crispy baguette and a glass of iced tea, and I was in heaven. Just the light tasty lunch I had been dreaming of.
This has always been one of my top favorite places to eat in Seattle and I am happy to have rediscovered it. Find yourself in the area check it out!
From the Author: This has always been one of my favorite places, so glad I rediscovered it! The pesto sauce was perfect for the salmon and the beet and fennel salad was the best. I'm going back next week for lunch with a friend. Its a great girl's lunch out place.
