I discovered Summer House Natural Soaps nearly 10 years ago when I was invited to a friend’s home for dinner. Gathered around her table were several Cape Cod entrepreneurs like myself. Looking to source local products to carry in my gift shop, I was thrilled to meet Ann Miller, founder and proprietor of this wonderful cottage industry.

Ann started making handmade natural soaps in the kitchen of her historic home in Barnstable, MA to feed her passion for cooking and gardening. Each bar is made from scratch in small batches using only the finest ingredients and employing a cold process method, which helps preserve the therapeutic quality of the soaps. In addition to her handmade soaps, Ann produces body lotions and bath salts, lip and hand balm, along with her latest line of liquid glycerin soaps, and a delightful natural dog shampoo. Some of the most popular scents are lavender, hydrangea, cranberry, beach plum, and lilac, although there are literally dozens of other varieties.

After nearly 10 years making soap in her kitchen, Ann recently opened a new workshop and outlet in Hyannis. Summer hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
