Located in the “old town” area of Pahoa, Hawaii in a noticeable red building across the street from Bank of Hawaii you will find Sukothai Restaurant.

If you love or even slightly like Thai cuisine, then this is a stop you should not miss. A family run business, Sukothai is incredible!

The inside has been colorfully repainted and new furniture brought in, but the food remains the same, absolutely great! Your order will be taken and you will be asked hot, no hot, medium hot, you can specify a bit hot, extra sweat… and it will be prepared that way. That is what makes Sukothai such a great place to eat. Your order is prepared especially for you and not scooped out of a pre-prepared tin, rewarmed and seasoned for you. It is made to order for you!

Now please note this may take time. Do not stop if you are in a hurry but do stop when you have time or can make time. The owners have conveniently placed Trivial Pursuit cards on the table to provide you with a way to pass the time. The wait is worth it.

My favorite is the chicken Pad Thai, medium hot, with an order of spring rolls to start. What ever your Thai pleasure you will have it here and leave happy, full and glad you stopped by.
