It’s a beautiful little shop on Magazine Street, as pretty as, well, a lacy Valentine, and there’s another location in Metairie at the Lakeside Shopping Center. The location at 622 Conti in the French Quarter is about to open, and before long it will add a restaurant , “Salon,” upstairs, with award-winning chef Tariq Hanna providing afternoon tea, sparkling wine, and interesting cocktails along with the tasty, sugary little sweets.

Sucre’ doesn’t miss out on Mardi Gras, either; its king cakes have been the talk of the town since at least 2012, when Sucre’ was voted “A Favorite” in the Times-Picayune competition and was “King of the King Cakes,” according to the Washington Post. There’s something really romantic about entering the mint-green and candy-hued dining room at the 3025 Magazine Street location, but you don’t have to visit in person; you can order online, and even afford yourself of some delivery options or let the staff bring your order out to your car for you.

With restaurants being jammed with couples on Valentine’s Day, you might want to check out Sucre’s options; and maybe you’d rather stay in that night anyway?
