Nestled in the Hudson Valley, Storm King Art Center is hailed as being one of the world’s best sculpture parks.  For over 50 years, visitors from across the globe have traveled to Storm King to traverse the 500-acres of fields, hills, and woodlands that boast over 100 sculptures. Located approximately an hour from New York City, it is easy to arrive at this unique sculpture park. Coach USA offers day packages to the Art Center leaving from Port Authority in New York City. You can call 800-631-8405 for more information. Also, Storm King is 3 miles, or 6 minutes , by taxi from the Salisbury Mills-Cornwall station on the Metro North Line.

The park is so large that you should plan on bringing sunscreen or UV protective clothing (as there is not much shade), plenty of water, and a good pair of walking shoes.  If you are interested, you can even rent bikes for $32/day just inside the main gate. It is the quickest way, outside of the tram that is complimentary, to see the gorgeous sculptures. You can bring snacks or a picnic lunch with you or order from the Storm King Cafe, with catering by the Fresh Company.

The park has varying hours by season, so be sure to check out their website when you are making your travel plans. For 2014 the hours are:

April 2 – October 31
Wednesdays – Sundays, 10am-5:30pm
Saturdays and Sundays through Labor Day, 10am-8pm.

November
Wednesdays – Sundays, 10am-4:30pm. Closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Holiday Mondays the grounds will be open  from 10am-5:30pm
Labor Day, September 1
Columbus Day, October 13

Admission for adults is $15, senior citizens 65+ is $12, children 5-18 or students are $8, children 4 & under and members are free. Also, receive free admission on the last Thursday of each month.
