Although the Stonewood Tavern opened its doors only a year ago, it has developed quite a following. The cozy atmosphere is reminiscent of a typical neighborhood joint frequented by locals. Banquettes are located around the perimeter of the room, and tables are in the center. A full granite-topped bar with a wide selection of premium beers, wines and liquors, complements the dining area.

To ensure the highest standards of quality, local ingredients are received fresh daily. The menu is eclectic, with a nice selection of appetizers, salads, burgers and entrees. Their award-winning chef, Todd Daigneault, has been featured on national television and is the winner of the Tyson Foods sponsored Chef Challenge.

I was convinced to try the grilled octopus, which normally is not high on my food hit parade. What a culinary experience! It was grilled to perfection with just the right blending of flavors: sweet smoke, pungent capers, red onions and a splash of fresh lemon juice.

Service is pretty good, but a reservation on the weekend, while not required, is advisable.
