Looking for some cool jazz nearby? Step into Snug Harbor, a longtime mainstay here on Frenchman Street, and one of the top jazz clubs in the city. Set in a renovated 1800’s building, the club encompasses three floors. But the center of activity is the intimate, two-story cabaret-style music room. Here you can catch two shows nightly, featuring top local and national musicians playing modern New Orleans jazz. Keep an eye out for NOLA legend Ellis Marsalis—he often tickles the ivories here.

Grab a drink in the cozy wood and brick bar before or after a set. If you’re hungry, Snug Harbor has a great little dining room serving traditional New Orleans fare, in addition to standards, such as steak and burgers.
