A fresh addition to the list of dining options in Williamsburg Virginia and the brain child of Executive Chef Nelson Miller, called simply, “SILT” …  a Farm To Fork Restaurant in Williamsburg.

SILT is a true farm to fork concept restaurant with 90 percent of the protein and produce coming from within 150 miles of Williamsburg.

Every entree is gluten free and there is always at least one vegan entree on the menu. Chef Nelsen is very accommodating to allergy issues with food and a request table side can result in a fresh, obliging dish in no time at all since the from scratch kitchen uses only the freshest ingredients.

The Menu changes with the seasons so there is sure to be something different in fall from the dishes of spring while winter months prove to be just as enjoyable because at Silt they preserve the produce of the season.

You may think when you first look at the menu that its a bit pricey but if you take into consideration the quality and freshness, 90 % of the produce, protein and wines are Bio Dynamic or Organic,  you will soon realize the true value of this amazingly delicious option for dining in Williamsburg.

From the Author: Our first time at SILT was a truly delectable experience, I had the Salted Peach and Bacon Goat Cheese Arugula Salad with a maple vinaigrette and the Chesapeake Bay Crabcakes served with a garlic and saffron shrimp rice. My Companion enjoyed the 24 Hour Sweet Tea Brined Pork Chop with Byrdmill faux cheese grits, Eastern Shore collards, and pot likker pan sauce. With beer and wine this dinner came to just over $125.
